Aurora

What Aurora syncs with iCloud

Collections and the wallpapers saved in them sync through your private iCloud account. Recents and settings stay on each device.

Aurora syncs through your own private iCloud account. There is no Wells Code account and no Wells Code server.

What is synced

  • Your collections, and their order
  • The wallpapers saved in them: each one’s name, style, composition, shape and colours

Wallpaper names and designs travel in encrypted fields. A wallpaper syncs as its design, not as a picture, so each device draws it again at its own size.

Checking sync

Settings ▸ Sync shows the current status and when Aurora last synced.

  • iCloud Sync turns sync on or off for this device.
  • Sync now sends and fetches changes straight away. Aurora otherwise syncs by itself.
  • Fetch everything again, under Troubleshooting, is for when two devices disagree. It re-reads all that iCloud holds and merges it in, removing nothing, and asks before it runs.

Edits on two devices

If you rename a wallpaper on one device and recolour it on another, both changes are kept. If a wallpaper is deleted on one device, an older edit from a device that was offline does not bring it back.

A different iCloud account

A library belongs to one iCloud account. If the device is signed in to a different one, Aurora pauses rather than mixing two libraries, and offers Use this iCloud account to adopt the current one deliberately.

See Fixing iCloud sync for the checks that apply to every app.
