Turning on sharing
Every Wells Code purchase supports Family Sharing, whichever way you buy the app. Family Sharing is an App Store setting rather than an in-app one. The organiser of the family group turns on Purchase Sharing, and the shared purchase then appears for everyone in the group who is eligible under Apple’s account rules.
- On iPhone or iPad: Settings ▸ [your name] ▸ Family ▸ Purchase Sharing.
- On Mac: System Settings ▸ Family ▸ Purchase Sharing.
Family members then find the app under Purchased in the App Store. In an app with plans, they can also tap Restore Purchases in its purchase settings.
Each person keeps their own data
Sharing a purchase shares the entitlement, not the content. Every family member has their own library, synced to their own iCloud account. Nobody in a family group can see anybody else’s tasks, journal, contacts, feeds, queue or wallpapers.
This matters most for Echo: sharing the app does not share the journal. Each journal remains in its owner’s iCloud account.
If a shared purchase does not appear
- Confirm Purchase Sharing is on for the group.
- Confirm the family member is signed in with their own Apple Account.
- Look under Purchased in the App Store, signed in with that Apple Account.
- In an app with plans, tap Restore Purchases in its purchase settings.
